I'm just tryin' to live
I saw this on Ben Baller's blog a while ago and when I read it, it puts things back into perspective for me on what's really important in life. This kinda goes along with the last post of leading a meaningful life and not buying material possessions that only give a temporary joy. I need to focus more on the those things that bring me joy that lasts. Things that money can't buy. Things that are priceless. Things that make me happy and do things I want to do. Be around friends and family that make me happy. Just live life and enjoy any opportunities that present itself and to go out there and kill it.
This has been a roller coaster of a year for me and it's now time for me to rebuild and make the next year be the best year yet. I'll be dirty 30 then and I want it to be one of the best and successful years of my life and have it get better from there every year after.
Sorry for all the sappy posts, I've just had time to reflect on my life and I need some change for the positive because what I'm doing now isn't good enough for me anymore. I'm tired of being in the same job position, I'm tired of being the nice guy that finishes last, I'm tired of putting in my effort for little to no return and I'm tired of settling because I know I can do better than that.....
A wonderful Message by Anonymous:
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints.
We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much , and pray too seldom.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...
Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be a round forever.
Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.
Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comesfrom deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.
Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Changing my way of thinking..
My mom sent me this email a few days ago and it made me think about what I do with my money. It is kinda weird how when we make more money we think about how much more we can spend. This email kinda put into perspective how I should go about my money and what I choose to spend it on. It is a recession nowadays so this will motivate me to try to save more instead of spend.

Some of you may already know that I travel around the region pretty frequently, having to visit and conduct seminars at my offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Suzhou (China). I am in the airport almost every other week so I get to bump into many people who have attended my seminars or have read my books.
Recently, someone came up to me on a plane to KL and looked rather shocked. He asked, 'How come a millionaire like you is traveling economy?' My reply was, 'That's why I am a millionaire. ' He still looked pretty confused. This again confirms that greatest lie ever told about wealth (which I wrote about in my latest book 'Secrets of Self Made Millionaires'). Many people have been brainwashed to think that millionaires have to wear Gucci, Hugo Boss, Rolex, and sit on first class in air travel. This is why so many people never become rich because the moment that they earn more money, they think that it is only natural that they spend more, putting them back to square one.
The truth is that most self-made millionaires are frugal and only spend on what is necessary and of value. That is why they are able to accumulate and multiply their wealth so much faster. Over the last 7 years, I have saved about 80% of my income while today I save only about 60% (because I have my wife, mother in law, 2 maids, 2 kids, etc. To support). Still, it is way above most people who save 10% of their income (if they are lucky). I refuse to buy a first class ticket or to buy a $300 shirt because I think that it is a complete waste of money. However, I happily pay $1,300 to send my 2-year old daughter to Julia Gabriel Speech and Drama without thinking twice.
When I joined the YEO (Young Entrepreneur' s Organization) a few years back (YEO is an exclusive club open to those who are under 40 and make over $1m a year in their own business) I discovered that those who were self-made thought like me. Many of them with net worth's well over $5m, traveled economy class and some even drove Toyotas and Nissans (not Audis, Mercs, BMWs).
I noticed that it was only those who never had to work hard to build their own wealth (there were also a few ministers' and tycoons' sons in the club) that spent like there was no tomorrow. Somehow, when you did not have to build everything from scratch, you do not really value money. This is precisely the reason why a family's wealth (no matter how much) rarely lasts past the third generation. Thank God my rich dad (oh no! I sound like Kiyosaki) foresaw this terrible possibility and refused to give me a cent to start my business.
Then some people ask me, 'What is the point in making so much money if you don't enjoy it?' The thing is that I don't really find happiness in buying branded clothes, jewellery or sitting first class. Even if buying something makes me happy it is only for a while, it does not last..
Material happiness never last, it just gives you a quick fix.
After a while you feel lousy again and have to buy the next thing, which you think, will make you happy. I always think that if you need material things to make you happy, then you live a pretty sad and unfulfilled life.
Instead, what makes ME happy is when I see my children laughing and playing and learning so fast. What makes me happy is when I see my companies and trainers reaching more and more people every year in so many more countries. What makes me really happy is when I read all the emails about how my books and seminars have touched and inspired someone's life. What makes me really happy is reading all your wonderful posts about how this BLOG is inspiring you. This happiness makes me feel really good for a long time, much more than what a Rolex would do for me.
I think the point I want to put across is that happiness must come from doing your life's work (be in teaching, building homes, designing, trading, winning tournaments etc.) and the money that comes is only a by-product. If you hate what you are doing and rely on the money you earn to make you happy by buying stuff, then I think that you are living a meaningless life.

Barabus -Ultimate R

Saw this on Fresness. This smartcar looks like it would be fun to drive. I won't mind being seen in one of these. The three cylinder OEM engine is modified with additional turbo charger making 112 horsepower giving it a more respectable 0-100km/h time of 9.5 seconds. Top speed is marked at 170km/h or 106 mph which would be fairly scary in this particular vehicle. Sports suspension is also added on which lowers the car by 30mm and stiffer shocks are installed for better handling. To make it more sporty in its aesthetics Brabus used carbon fiber elements in and out of the car and put blacked out double spoke wheels wrapped in sports tyres. More pics can be found here.

EZ Grill
Saw this on Uncrate. Summer is upon us and there is no better time to fire up the grill. Have no grill? EZ Grill is your answer. It is a disposable grill in a box. You just remove the packaging from the EZ Grill, shake it to even out the charcoal, put it on the stand, light the starter sheet and wait 15 minutes and your up and cookin! When your done, put out the flames and then throw it away. Pretty dope idea instead of luggin around a grill everywhere. You can get more info here.

This is probably one of the last Most Valuable Puppets commercial they will have. It's Kobe celebrating his championship. This is one of the more successful campaigns Nike has had in a while. Reminds me of Lil Penny back in the day...

Can I have you number?
Some students showed me this today. Pretty funny. They want to do a similar skit like this involving me for their Senior Follies where they make fun of the Faculty and staff mainly. It should be good!

Too bad I won't be in Vegas this weekend...
With all the sports event going on this weekend with the Derby, The Pacquiao/Hatton fight and the NBA playoffs, this weekend would be crazy in Vegas. This one more thing I'm missing out on. Saw this on the Undefeated site. They are selling these Nike windrunners with some of Manny's sponsors along with his Flywire Trainer 1s I posted a few days ago only at Undefeated in LV. This would be pretty dope to have but prolly won't be able to get my hands on.

Puma Glow Rider

Here is another item that I want but is hella expensive. This bike has been out for almost a year now and I've always liked it but not the $1600 price tag it came with. Now its $800 but its now out of stock. I still want this bike and I would possibly pay 8 bills if I can find the orange version but I'll take either at this point.

Nalgene Flask

I remember back in the day making hulks (hypnotiq and hennessey) in my nalgene bottle and drinking on the way to where ever. This makes it even more convenient now and will make me at least feel more like a drunk. Such a great idea. Maybe I'll pick one up one of these days. You can buy it here.
Franco Shade x Pacman Tee

I got my order in for this shirt so we'll see if my order goes through. Then I'll be ready to watch Manny destroy Ricky Hatton on May 2nd. Its gonna be a good fight!!! More info on the shirt here.
PS- I ordered an XL as well so if someone wants one, you can buy it from me cuz its now sold out....
